Priyanka was hailed as Canada’s first-ever drag superstar in the season finale of ‘Canada’s Drag Race’ today, September 3rd.

Priyanka, 28, with his off-stage name Mark Suknanan, was announced as the season’s winner by judges: actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, supermodel Stacey McKenzie, and runner-up of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 11 Brooke Lynn Hytes, together with Canada’s squirrel-friend and the episode’s guest host, Traci Melchor.

“I’m living proof that hard work pays off, and that even when you make mistakes, you can still be a winner,” the newly-crowned queen said upon holding the scepter and accepting her title as Canada’s first-ever Drag Superstar.

In the season finale, streamed via WOW Presents Plus, the three remaining queens (Priyanka, Scarlett BoBo, and Rita Baga) were asked to do a song-and-dance number on RuPaul’s hit track ‘U Wear It Well.’ They were recorded by the show’s resident producer Ralph, and were choreographed by Brooke Lynn Hytes and Hollywood Jade. They performed the RuMix the following day in the runway, where they showcased their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.

After the performance, the queens were asked to walk the runway under the category ‘Coronation Eleganza’. Rita Baga first walked the runway with a green alien-inspired fitted gown, which she said is an elevated version of her entrance look. Scarlett BoBo walked next, wearing a black-and-pink gown which she said is her ‘most glamorous look to date.’ Priyanka then paid homage to her Indian heritage wearing a beautiful lehenga.

In ‘Untucked’, the reunion of the entire cast was held, with all of the eliminated queens reminiscing their iconic moments of the season. They also said who their pick to win the crown is. They walked the crown according to their elimination order (Juice Boxx, Kyne, Anastarzia Anaquway, Tynomi Banks, Kiara, BOA, Ilona Verley, Lemon, and Jimbo), before the final three once again prance the runway.

The top three queens were asked to do a final lipsync number of Love Inc.’s “You’re a Superstar.” Then the judges announced that Priyanka won the season.

Priyanka, who came by the name Mark Suki as a former kids’ television host, was in shock when her name was announced. “To the kids who are watching, I know you used to watch me somewhere else, but now I’m home. I’m Canada’s first-ever Drag Superstar! I’m rich! And I get to represent the country all around the world. I’m so thankful, I’m so proud to be Canadian. I’m gonna make this country so proud. I’m gonna make everybody around the world proud,” she said.

Throughout the competition, Priyanka won one mini-challenge, and two maxi-challenges despite landing in the bottom two twice, giving two of the most iconic lipsyncs of the season.

Upon winning, Priyanka bagged a year of hotel stays in Hilton, a crown and scepter by Amped Accessories, and a cash prize of $100,000.

RuPaul also announced that a Dutch version of ‘Drag Race’ will come out soon.
