John Leonard Landicho is a writer-correspondent of Politixxx Today. He graduated senior high school in San Beda University. He is currently studying Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in Ateneo de Manila University.
Kamala Harris is a United States senator of California who made history as the first Asian-American and African American vice presidential candidate of the United States.

Dubbed as “history-making vice-presidential candidate”, she was also the first black woman to serve as San Francisco’s district attorney and the first black woman to serve California’s attorney general.
–         She is against President Trump’s border wall and referred to it as “medieval vanity project.”
–         She worked with Rep. Ocasio-Cortez seeking to address the climate crisis with policies aimed at lawmakers that are not taking accountability.
–         She supports the Black Lives Matter movement, however she did not give a definite answer whether she supports defunding the police but she believes in reimagining how to achieve public safety in America which can be achieved by allocating funds for education, healthcare and job creation.
–         She was widely criticized on her criminal justice stance in handling over-incarceration, the death penalty, and wrongly incarcerated people while she was the Attorney General of California
–         She supports Medicare-for-All and her proposal would set up a government run system, but private insurers would still be able to compete within it.

–         She is the daughter of immigrants. Her Jamaican father is a professor emeritus at Stanford University and her mother was a cancer researcher from India. The couple was active in the Civil Rights movement before divorcing when Harris and her sister Maya were children.
–         She was one of the students in Thousand Oaks Elementary school who were bused into predominantly white neighborhood.
–         She majored in Political Science and Economics in Howard University, a historically Black college.
–         In 2014, she married a corporate lawyer named Doug Emhoff who has two children, Cole and Ella on his previous marriage.
–         She had a close friendship with Beau Biden, Vice President’s son who died of brain tumour.
